Captain
The Captain of a ship at sea is in absolute command of that vessel even if higher-ranking persons are aboard. If higher-ranking persons give orders to the nautical captain, such persons are very careful to say what they want done rather than specifying how the orders are to be carried out, because even higher rank does not give them the right to interfere in how a captain runs the ship.
The Captain's rank is noted by their title being placed above their ship's flag on their Sashes.
A Visiting Captain, holds no rank or within the fleet and does not fly under the banner of the Colorado Rogues, but Visiting Captains are welcome into our safe harbor to visit with friendly company.
Captain Equivalents
In the Fleet, not all Captains are simply named "Captain". Historically in the Rogues, The Harbour and the House were not considered Ships, but Guilds instead. In recent years, however, the Council has lifted these titles off of the entities and granted them both full recognition as a Ship of the Fleet.
Harbourmaster
The Harbourmaster is in charge of The Harbour the main port on Eilean er Coayl Grayse. This is where all new recruits come in to become Colorado Rogues. The Harbourmaster is in charge of making them the status of Step n' Fetch according to the doctrine itemized in The Step n' Fetch Rules.
Any interested party must be sponsored by a Full Rogue in good standing and brought before the Harbourmaster during Faire Season for an interview. The Harbour will then talk about you behind your back and decide if you have the makings of a Step n' Fetch.
