The Thieves Guild
Current Members
Guildmaster Ash Dresden and his Lieutenant Captain Zatara are the only currently known thieves however our influence spans the Fleet with at least one member from every ship and guild. Inclusion in the Guild is based on anonymity and highly prized by its members.
Past Members
Unknown. We like it that way.
Mythos
The Thieves Guild gathers and trains those who are stealthy and shadowy in nature or have access to useful information or people. Although criminal by its very definition, on an island of filled with pirates, those in power have “failed to notice” the presence of the guild due to its use as a "crime regulator" The Thieves Guild is an organization of professionals, just like any other guild, except that these professionals are operators in the fields of burglary, robbery, pickpocketing, and other unsavory activities. We don't have a public Guild hall, but there are certain safe-houses available, and members tend to be around where ever Rogues gather. The Thieves Guild keeps resources on hand to maintain a network of spies, make payoffs, and manage the black market.
Faire Participation
We are an underground group of talented and brilliantly manipulative Rogues who nurture the seedy underbelly of the Fleet. We trade in secrets and baubles, however we are also the most trustworthy group you’ll ever find and more than a few members have advanced into officer positions within the Fleet. If it was stolen by the Thieves, you can be sure it will be returned. In the vein of building quality ship relations, the thieves work together under a common albeit secretive guise to keep the Fleet a family and not just a collection of ships.
The Game
The Thieves are the moderators of the Thieves Game. Details of the game are a closely guarded secret. You must play the game to learn. However it can be told that the Thieves Game is a seemingly simple competition of “free for all” challenges and group activities played for one weekend on the faire grounds, done more for the entertainment of others rather than for the participants. Signup for the game usually begins the first week of April and is open to all rogues. All that is required to play is $2, a camera and a sense of humour.
The game is not a ship on ship competition, simply a rogue on rogue competition.
Past Winners
Winners of the game in previous years have been awarded the Thieves cup. However to maintain their anonymity, the thieves cup is different every year and unlabeled.
