Biography

Chapter1

Father Gooey was born on April 21st though no one can quite determine what year he was born… born James Fancis Nevar De’goo, Father Gooey was orphaned as a baby. His parents, presumed dead, had left only a small note stating his name and a recipe for a potato soup (quite a good recipe if I might add). He was left on the steps of St. Travastines church in a potato sack, with a Rattle, A bottle of Mcdrunk 12 year old scotch (a very popular scotch at the time), three small stones, and a stuffed burrow named Bob. Those first few weeks on the steps of St. Travestines were hard for Gooey since the monks were deathly afraid of what lay in the sack making Gurgling, rattling noises.

After the first week, Bob left Gooey (presumably looking for greener pastures… or at least cable tv) Leaving Gooey to befriend the three stones. Gooey quickly realized that the three stones were a bad influence on his youthful, impressionable mind and set out crawling to find more intellectually pleasing company. He crawled around the back of the Church and into a window.

In those times the back of churches were coupled with brothels and the nuns would wear low cowls to hide their faces so the clientèle wouldn’t recognize them on Sunday mass. The window that Gooey had led him into the dressing room and chance would have it, onto a pile of clean ladies undergarments. He lay there contented in the softly scented pile of linens for nearly a day when one of the nuns/courtesans Sister Mary Luvcock found him and held him tightly to her petite yet shapely bosom. The next sixteen years were some of the happiest of Gooey’s life. He spent his days in the Churches extensive library with the priests. And at night, the nuns would take turns teaching him the finer points of how to treat a lady.

But Gooey felt restless… feeling that there must be so much more to life than being fawned upon by nunisans and reading about the workings of the human mind. So one day in June he announced that he would be leaving. The inhabitants of the chothel were devastated, yet through their sadness, they saw that Gooey was right… He was made to wander, and wander he would. So they threw him a going away party.

It was a beautiful day in August when Gooey crawled past the passed out and hung over nunisans and priests. Gooey was unleashed on the world… Gooey wandered the land searching for his calling. Ears open and heart searching. He wandered onto the cobblestone streets of Manchester… or perhaps it was Boulder… or it could have been Glasgow… no one is really quite certain. History has a way of bending time and space quite often… having spent the bulk of his life in a church/brothel, Gooey was awed by the brilliant sights of the city… the hustle and bustle of people desperately trying to make their lives appear more important than the person next to them… Street hawkers, and shopkeepers, beckoned to him… Corner wenches, and shady dealers propositioned him… All of it was so overwhelming that Gooey quickly ducked into the nearest place of relative safety… The Shiny Shanty was by far one of the dingiest pubs in all the continent… perhaps the world…
