Biography

On a dark August night the Ragin Saint Mae successfully took a ship and its cargo by force. Amongst the possessions was a large hound being shipped to the colonies for a rich land owner. Instead of killing the animal right away the officers and crew thought that the dog would make a much better meal than some of the dry goods they have been eating. Over the course of the next couple of days the First Mate took first watch aboard ship and with it came the responsibility of feeding the animal in the morning. The next morning the First Mate took charge of the deck just as a Portuguese man of war broke the silence of the dawn with cannon fire. As the ship approached and a repelling party was prepared aboard ship the dog was let loose of its ties by a stray shot. During the first wave the hound ran to the side of the First Mate who and fed her and defended him from attackers. Once from near death as a portuguse ship hand tried to cleave the first mate in half. The animal took the blow for him and saved his life. The First Mate noticing this stood by the dog and strangely defended the dog without much knowing why. After te battle the Ragin Saint Mae stood victorious and the Portuguese man o war fled like cowards. This left the First Mate with a difficult decision. Never had he seen such loyalty from an animal. The animal whimpered softly as he tended to her wounds. He pledged that if this animal were to live that her life would be spared. No man would touch her let he face the wrath of the First Mate. Over time her wounds healed and she was as loyal to this day as she was that day of battle. Now merely on command the First Mate holds her chains and she fiercely strikes fear into the very heart of ships being boarded. She is vicious with anyone but her crew and anyone trying to board her ship. She has been christened “Fang” by many of the crew and its officers but to it loyal master she will always secretly be known as “Honey bear”
