Biography

The Master Artisan for the Sun God is known as Prince Charming. Some sneer at the moniker, calling it at best a nickname for the way this “pretty boy tosses his hair”. Others believe, a tale, that his namesake is no joke, that he truly is the fabled hero.

Once upon a time, Prince Charming’s travels crossed with the path of Commodore Amon’s. The two became fast friends and confidantes. At the surface, it was an unlikely friendship, Charming being who he is and the Commodore being the leader of a fleet of pirates. But Commodore Amon’s mission impressed Charming, for Amon sought to help those in need. Indeed, Amon reminded Charming of another ally of his, Robin Hood.

The next thing anyone knew, Prince Charming was Commodore Amon’s First Mate and was sailing on the Sun God along with Stalkie McGroper, then the Bosun of the fine vessel.

The trio sailed through rough waters, and fought together through many a fierce battle. But their alliance was to be tested. Charming had royal obligations and quests that pulled him away from his duties on the ship. These absences lead to an emotional decision by the Commodore. He had to have a First Mate who could be a constant presence on the ship. So came the day that the Commodore had to go to Charming with this news. Ironically, it was only days before Charming would set out for an adventure to a distant land. A fledgling shire was in danger, and needed his help. As much as it saddened Charming, he knew that it was something that needed to happen. Perhaps it was inevitable. He did take solace in the fact that Stalkie McGroper would be promoted to First Mate, a position that he felt Stalkie highly deserved.

But he was not to leave the crew, for Commodore Amon asked Charming to stay on as the Master Artisan of the ship. Charming happily accepted the position. With that, the three toasted each other knowing that once Charming (along with his faithful sidekick, Dashing) had set things right in that distant shire he would come back to the Sun God. And he did.

Now Charming is sailing once again with the Sun God, now stronger with a full crew. Yes, Charming will be called away from the vessel on some heroic quest, or to fulfill his royal duties. But he will always return to the Sun God once the wrongs have been righted, the damsels are out of distress, and the villains have been brought to justice.

So is he the real “Prince Charming”? This tale besides, there is certainly evidence to back up the theory. His royal connections have made certain situations much smoother for the fleet. He seems to be friends with King Henry, and his son Prince James. The Lord High Sheriff has been deterred by Charming, and has been seen bowing to him. Then there is the fact that Charming seems to leave a trail of glitter wherever he goes, and forest animals seem to talk to him. Lest we forget the fact that he has dated many princesses….and then he does have that glass slipper….

But it could be all a coincidence.
