− | As with any good story, Commodore Amon was not born a [[commodore]], but the role found him through a series of events that seemed guided by an unforseen hand.
| |
− | | |
− | Commodore Amon was born Joshua Thomas to a Welsh father and Germanic mother with Egyptian decent. His father was a member of the English Navy, leaving for months at a time in the service of the King upon the valiant and strong ship the HMS Flying Fortress. This, of course, left his loving mother to take care of him and his brothers. The middle child, Joshua was extremely bright and gifted, learning at a fast pace. He also had a vast and talented imagination. While his father was away in the service of the King, he would read the stories of the Royal Navy's conquests, and would pretend with his brothers that he was the captain of a Royal Ship and they were his couragous crew, sailing the seas and attacking enemies of the crown.
| |
− | | |
− | However, as with most sailors, when his father would come home, he would drink. His drinking lead to abusive projections of his time on the sea, and Joshua's mother and brothers would receive the rage that had built up over the previous months.
| |
− | | |
− | When Joshua was 11, his mother could stand it no longer. When his father was away at sea, she packed up her belongings and her sons and left the English countryside, setting sail for the West Indies in an attempt start her life over again and to save sons the pain that their father brought home with him.
| |
− | | |
− | But, the damage was done. Joshua had dealt with enough absue from his father that he became filled with rage against him. When Joshua was old enough, he left his mother and volunteered upon the HMS Bradley in the hopes that he would once again see his father and pay him back for the years of abuse that he bestowed upon him and his family.
| |
− | | |
− | During his time on the HMS Bradley, Joshua was subjected to many difficult tasks. He was mistreated by the officers on the ship, and was made to endure agonizing duties with the rest of crew, all the while the corrupt officers laughed, stating it was for the service of King and Country.
| |
− | | |
− | He never did find his father, but he found what had filled his father with the rage and agony when he came home. Joshua came to realize that the Royal Navy was filled hypocritical people who took their orders from a corrupt King more interesting increasing the size of his coffers that he was at preserving the Kingdom and its people. At the age of 22, during a raid on a group of pirates that had been attacking merchant vessels sailing through the Carribean, Joshua abandoned his post to join forces with the pirates. The pirates had sailed away damaged, but they gained a new able crewman in the process.
| |
− | | |
− | Joshua had thought that the pirates would help in his new quest of destroying the corrupt system that he and his father had both served. However, the pirates were just as selfish and corrupt as the Royal Naval officers that he once took orders from. At once, the corrupt "Queen", as she called herself, began calling him Fellacio Hornblower, and forced him walk in front of her, blowing a horn to announce her presence as she paraded through towns. In the pirates encampment, she forced him to clear all rocks and level the area where her tent was with nothing more than a spoon. All this work occurred under the hot sun while she sat in the cool shade barking her orders.
| |
− | | |
− | This abuse of the crew went on long enough. In secrecy, the crew planned an uprising. During one particularly long, hot day, the crew enacted the plan, unbeknowst to the "Queen". As she stood their in shock, the crew bound and gagged her. They set sail, and in the middle of the open waters, pushed her off of the ship. The crew rejoiced in their new found freedom.
| |
− | | |
− | At once, the crew turned to Joshua and named him their [[Captain]]. But Joshua knew that if he was fullfill his dream of squashing the corrupt and evil of the British Empire, he was going to was not going to be able to do this alone. He began to restructure the crews into separate ships, naming captains for each one of them. The crews began to bind themselves together, looking towards their new leader for guidance. After naming 5 Captains, along with a Harbormaster for the island they had been using as their base of operations and a Madam to "take care" of the crews when they were on that island, Joshua named himself Commodore. After all this was no longer just one ship and one crew, but rather an entire fleet of pirates at his command. He renamed himself Amon after his mother's maiden name, honoring her Egyptian decent, and took a flagship for his own: [[The Sun God]].
| |
− | | |
− | The Commodore now leads his crews in an effort to destroy tyronny and corruption that is found within the societies of men, while supporting those that have been abused by them.
