A Ship Officer is recognized by a pair of crossed bones on their Sashes No Honorary Crew Member, Runner or Step N' Fetch may hold an officer position.
Officers are above the Standard Crew and below The Head and this is noted by the Crossed Bones.
The following Ranks are ALWAYS Officer Ranks:
Bosun (Boatswain) - Master of rigging, anchor, sailing (also performs the master-at-arms' duties if there is none)
Master Artisan - Master of design and repair
Master at Arms - The Ship's police force. Executing corporal punishment and serving as Weapons Master.
Master Gunner - Ship's master of black powder usage
Sailing Master / Navigator - Master of navigation
Scribe - Recorder and master of documents
Master Armorer - Master crafter of all armor
