== Biography==

In a castle in a faraway land, for quite a long time, lived a lady whose task it was to tend the hounds with her husband. If the villagers wanted something stored in the kennels, or needed a place to rest, they called upon her. As the castle folk petted her hounds they would tell her their cares, both big and small. She had her eyes and ears open, yet rarely spoke of what she knew. Everyone seemed to know her, yet they could not recall her name. To them she was invisible. Had anyone cared to ask, she could have told them how she and her husband yearned for more. They would look out to the sea and guess at the adventures taking place upon the ships that rose and fell with the swells of the sea. When the ships would come in to port to unload the treasures they held beneath their decks, she would listen to the stories the sailors would tell of strange lands and peoples. It seemed as if for all their trials upon the high seas, that these people of the sea were a family. A family that they had chosen to be a part of and that wanted them. In time, she learned to speak some of the tongues they used. These hard working and hard playing people were often roughly treated by the castle folk and called pirates as if that made them the lesser. Yet, she found that they remembered that she had a name. They were kind to her and sought out her company when they were in port. She, in turn, fed them and cared for them when the others would not. Yet, still, she wanted more than just to listen to others’ adventures. She wanted to be part of it. She wanted have her own adventures.

One summer day she met the one the pirates called Captain Greybeard. The others spoke of him in a mixture of awe, fear, and respect. She found him to be both a good listener and given to wise counsel. His crew was welcoming and bid her join them. She would have grand adventures and be whatever she chose to be they said. Hard work was valued and would be rewarded.

Her name was Valya and when the Lady Sinister let out her sails, she would be on it. Let the sea bring her whither it will; her fortune was hers to take!

== Biography==

Thinking back, I’ve always felt I had a good childhood. It’s hard to imagine a time when things were bad. I believe I was a happy child. As happy as any child could be. Those memories came crashing down as I got older. My mother was very young when she conceived me. My father was much older and decided his life would be much better minus a child and a woman to take care of. Because of this, my grandmother sought out help to have me removed from my mother’s womb. Thankfully, my mother protested.
It wasn’t easy dealing with such knowledge as I got older. That feeling of not being wanted. Thankfully I had my mother’s love. Or so I thought. As I got older, my mother begun to resent me for reasons unknown. Maybe I looked like my father. Maybe I was the reason no man would have her. To this day, I don’t know why. I just know that no matter how my life would turn out, I would always be a disappointment to her. Once I realized this, I left home. I was 14.
As the years passed, I felt myself being drawn to the sea. I hung around the docks, trying to find work unloading ships and cleaning fish. I soon found permanent work aboard a vessel called The Southern Eye, a merchant ship. She was captained by Jonas Costa. It was from this man that I would learn how to become a man.
Months went by and it wasn’t long before I fell in love with the daughter of a local merchant. Lucinda. Whenever the Southern Eye would come to port, Lucinda was there, waiting patiently for her love to return from the sea. In time, Captain Jonas had taken on another merchant ship and assigned me to captain it! Life was good. So good that I soon asked for Lucinda’s hand in marriage.
That evening, while having dinner with Lucinda’s family, questions were asked of me that had not been asked before. Who were my parents and what kind of work did they do? What village did they reside? Of all the times spent with her parents, they never pressured me to answer before. They were content to accept that I did not care to talk about my past. But not now. Now that I had wished to marry their daughter, they wanted to know everything.
So I told them. That I was born never knowing my Father and left home at an early age due to resentment from my mother. That at one time, my grandmother sought to end my life before it had even begun. I was a bastard and I had no family other than the sea.
As tears begun to gently slide down my cheeks, Lucinda’s father placed his hand on my shoulder, looked me in my eyes and said “You have grown to become a fine young man, but my daughter’s hand is not to be had by a bastard.” His words did not sting. I’ve always felt that I’ve disappointed those in my life. What stung, no, what cut like a dagger was the lack of words from Lucinda. Her eyes never gazed upon me. She simply got up from her chair and went to her room. I knew it was over so I returned to what was now my ship, The Northern Eye.
The following morning I could not wait to set sail. I had to get out to sea. I had to get away. As my crew prepared to set sail, Captain Jonas boarded the ship and had wished to talk with me. To bid me safe voyage. Or so I thought. I was informed that The Northern Eye was to be captained by some son of the governor! Before I could even ask why, Captain Jonas had already exited what had been my quarters. I was left standing there. With nothing. Nothing but orders from this, pretended captain. I don’t even recall what was being said. I just left to catch up with Captain Jonas and demand an explanation!
All I got was, “It is what it is. Be a man. Get over it. We set sail within the hour.”
That day, The Southern Eye and The Northern Eye, set sail minus a crewman. They set sail, minus a bastard. That day, a man left a town without a bride. He left with nothing more than a name he never asked for nor wanted.
That day, a bastard realized what his grandmother had known before he even was born. That he had no place in the world.
I again found myself in yet another shipping port looking for work. Looking for anything. Looking to belong. I drank. I fought. And I drank some more. And fought as often as I was drinking. How was I not dead yet? It wasn’t from a lack of trying. So, I tried harder.
One night, after yet another drunken ass kicking, I managed to find my way in the kitchen of an Inn owned by this woman. Or man. Or something. I couldn’t tell you. I was too far gone but the next day I had awaken in a bed and my clothes removed. I had been cleaned and found some food on a table. Before I could take a bite this nice spread, a woman with the eyes of an angel came into the room.
I asked who she was and she simply replied, “A friend.” While I ate, she brought in some clean clothes and said I was more than welcome to stay for as long as I liked. I told her “Thank you but that’s okay. I’ll be on my way once I get dressed.”
She then took my hand, looked me in my eyes and said words I will never forget. “You have a kind soul. A soul that has been tormented. Let me ease your pain. Let me love you.”
I was speechless. This woman did not know me. I was a stranger she had saved.
I told her. “I’m a broken man, not worth loving or saving. I belong nowhere. I fit in nowhere. My own blood wished me dead. Those who were to help me find my way in this world had abandoned me. One I had looked up to, simply cast me aside. I was not good enough to be loved. My only desire is to just fade away.”
Tears rolled down my face like a raging river. I had never felt so beat down. And what did she do? She wiped away my tears and simply said “Let me love you.” I didn’t reply and again she said “Let me love you.” I asked her name and she said, Katoo.
In time, we were married and I was helping her with the Inn. I was happy but I missed the sea. Oh how I missed the sea. It was just by chance one day that a man came into the Inn and had asked me if I knew of any able-bodied men that would like to set sail with him and his crew. I quickly volunteered myself but he made it clear, that this would be no ordinary voyage with no ordinary crew. He told me his name Ohm, retired Captain Lorrance Ohm. Before he could say anything else, before he could entice me, I told him that I was once lost, but found my way to the life I have and I am content. I wasn’t even sure why I had even volunteered to join his crew.
At this time Katoo had come over and I introduced her to him. He smiled and said “I understand the change of heart. Be well my friend.” As he got up to leave, Katoo stopped him and asked what his ship’s destination was?
He replied, “Some place, where you can call home. Some place where you find peace and be one with the sea. But you have to want it. You have to work for it. It isn’t for everyone.”
I didn’t know what to think. I looked at my Wife, she smiled and said “this is what you have been waiting for. To belong somewhere and to finally find yourself.” I felt more bad then excited because I knew this meant leaving Katoo behind. I told Captain Ohm thank you but I could not leave my Wife.
He replied, “Who said anything about leaving her behind? How can you find happiness without the one you love?” We set sail in the morning. You’ll meet the rest of the crew then.
As he left, I realized I had never given him my name. I yelled out, “Captain Ohm, my name is…..”
He cut me off and said “That name, whatever it may be, no longer exists. Tomorrow, you will be given a new name for a new life.”
What must a person endure before coming to peace with who they are? How much do they have to go through and for how long? For me, it has taken 48 years. 48 long years of hurt, doubt, ups & downs, love, lust, pain, joy and loss. Could my journey to find myself finally be over?

To be continued. Sway’s New World.

== Biography==

The night I was born was the last moment of peace that I had. I came into
this world of chaos kicking and screaming. I was left with Monks because
that was the last little bit of love my mother had for me. The monk that
was assigned to care for me soon after was moved to Rome and the Vatican
City became my stomping ground. I was taught soon as I was able to learn to
read about history lessons and the history of the church. When the monks
where not looking I was reading about tactics and warfare. Soon after while
having to play valet to the Brothers they were attacked outside of a
cathedral. The monk who was my caretaker was killed in the fighting. When
the fighting started I hid and when the fighting concluded I was the only
one left alive. The monks would not take me back in because I was a bastard
child and in Rome it is frowned upon. So I became an urchin on the street
at a very young age. Because of my being educated within the history of the
church and the history of Rome I had learned all of the best places to hide.
I was able to create defensible locations where I could hide and was able to
steal to be able to eat. Until the day everything went south.

On that day while tracking my mark back to his residence maybe by sheer
happen stance or possibly divine intervention my mark was attacked. He was
a dark brooding character with his hood up; but a good mark because I knew
he had gold in his purse. For some reason when he was attacked something
came over me. With no weapon in hand I entered the fray because he was
outnumbered 4 to 1. Being of a small stature I didn't think I just charged.
Well as you may have guessed I did survive; but I was knocked cold by the
first hit. I would like to think I went down swinging and got some good
licks in but I think I was backhanded as an annoyance. When I came to I was
sitting in a residence with my mark watching over me. He asked me what my
name was and at first I didn't understand until he spoke to me in Latin. I
explained that I had no name and that I was raised by a monk. He explained
that he would just call me Molon with my full name being Molon Labe because
that was the last thing he heard from my squeaky battle cry. He had not
known that he was being followed until I entered the fray. I had
unwittingly entered into a battle between Templars and Assassin's in search
for the Apple of Eden. His name was Edward Kenway and I was to become his
Cabin Boy to get me out of Rome.

I traveled for a time with Captain Kenway and in the early mornings he would
make me learn skills with weapons and how to maneuver the ship. It was a
physical struggle and eventually through the years I became strong enough to
be an able body seaman and became stealthy enough to be considered to be
mentored in other skills to become an Assassin. I had also become a World
Traveler and learned of the one safe Harbour where I could always take
refuge and the Harbourmaster would always protect me was in Amsterdam. I
soon parted ways with Captain Kenway to become the apprentice to Aveline de
Granpre to complete my Assassin training. It was from Tortuga to New
Orleans for me and I became even stronger because Madam Granpre was a
taskmaster. I could run the city without being seen and eventually was able
to be sent to France to be awarded the title of Assassin from the
Grandmaster. I was tasked to compete against Arno Dorian physically,
mentally, and tactically. Neither one of us knows who won or who lost but
the two of us were capable of putting on a show. Right after things
concluded I was put aboard the Dorada to sail back to Madam Granpre. Jean
Lafitte was on board and saw before it happened that the country was on the
verge of a revolution. He handed me a gift from Madam Grapre with a note in
side. She explained to me that I needed to find a safe harbor and be on the
lookout for worthy souls. I needed to carry on my lineage and my training.
The present was my hood of Assassin Make and two daggers. Use them with
honor and defend those that are unable to be defended.

I asked the Captain to redirect the ship to Amsterdam and released them from
their service. It was later that I found out upon the day of my graduation
that Madam Granpre had passed away from wounds inflected by the Templars. I
walked around aimlessly in the city of Amsterdam with a little gold to my
name trying to live and uphold the values that I was taught. It was the
following day after learning the death of my mentor that I was following a
group of Dock Workers who were heading in my general direction of travel.
Something about the way they carried themselves without a care in the world
intrigued me. Then I started to smell this most delicious aroma from the
Harbour of all places. Then I remembered Captain Kenway's words of the one
safe harbor for me was in Amsterdam. Then it struck me he literally meant
the Harbour so I walked into the building with the sign stating the Harbour.
Upon entering the Harbour I was introduced to wonderful smells, visually
appealing tasty treats, and laughter. Harbourmaster Jettie walked over to
me with a questioning eye and asked me questions. Questions only she would
be able to ask and she got me to talk. I told her about my trials and
tribulations over sordid drinks and at the end of the conversation she
stated "Welcome Home. Let us see what the world traveler looks like with
his new present. " Harbourmaster Jettie acted as if there was something she
knew that I did not. I put the hood on and from then forward was known as
Spartan. Now I hide in the shadows and defend the weak and disenfranchised.
I am not a white knight in shining armor sometimes you have to be willing to
play in the dark to bring out the light. Soon after being accepted on the
Harbour a new Harbourmaster came in and true to his word the new
Harbourmaster protects me as much as the old.

== Biography==

==Ship Story==

''Coming Soon''

'''Theme:''' Barbary Coast Piracy

[[The Harbour]] is the central port for the Colorado Rogues. New recruits are captured (inducted) into slavery (the Step'N'Fetch Program) where they learn the ways of our pirates. If the slaves (Steps) perform well throughout their servitude, they earn the chance at their freedom (Graduation) and choose where they wish to serve in the Fleet, much like Giovanni Dionigi, who was an Italian slave captured by the Barbary pirates, won his freedom, and became Uluj Ali, the Last Supreme Lord of the Barbary Pirates.

==Useful Info For Noobs==

Congratulations!!!!!
You passed the first test.
You found this page.

So you heard the pitch and are interested in becoming a Rogue. This page has the info you need to get you there.

We are a social drinking club with a charity problem and a golden age of piracy theme. As the true philosophical difference between Yarrrrrr and Arrrrrr is still a hotly debated topic the following guidelines and suggestions have been badly translated to plain English.

The first and most important step is for us to get to know you and you to get to know us. Outsiders are generally mocked, pointed at, kicked, poked with sharp things, and eaten, so stop being a stranger.

The way to do this-

1 Look through the Wiki-

You’re already here. This wiki has loads of information showing what we are all about and how we are organized.

2 Get on the Forums-

http://forums.coloradorogues.org/ucp.php?mode=register

All of our events and our primary mode of communication are through our private forums so register asap.

But I have a warning- Your conduct on the Forums will make a huge difference towards being accepted. We expect a level of courtesy toward all our members and the forum rules are strongly enforced. As well as the Terms of Service.

Read the above paragraph again. It’s alright I’ll wait…

3 Come out and play with us-

Throughout the year we have a bunch of events and parties both public and private. On the forums we have a place for upcoming events. Show up to a public event and get involved. If we see you we will remember you. And us remembering you in a positive way that helps a lot toward you being accepted for the Step N Fetch program.

4 Apply for the Step N Fetch program-

This is where things get interesting. The Step N Fetch program is something all of us went through in one form or another. It’s the rite of passage and proving ground that you have what it takes to be a Rogue. Ask any Rogue about being a Step and they will tell you an interesting story. Every Step year is memorable.

Some things you should know about being a Step-

It takes effort- Being a Rogue takes effort. The more active participants we have the more we can do. We want people who are willing to participate and make the Rogues even better.

It will invade your life- Mwa ha ha ha. It will take time (someone has to go get the booze), it will cost money (someone has to pay for the booze), it will not always go smoothly (someone has to go back for ice), it’s a lot of fun (for those who get to drink the booze). The more you put into the Rogues the more you will get out of it. We are a giant dysfunctional family and you will get all the joys and sorrows that comes with it. And its completely worth it.

Every year at the Colorado Renaissance Festival the Harbour does interviews with potential Steps to determine if you are right for the program. We have a list of requirements and guidelines that we look for in each applicant.

Requirements-

Definition of REQUIREMENT: something required:
a : something wanted or needed : necessity <production was not sufficient to satisfy military requirements>
b : something essential to the existence or occurrence of something else : condition <failed to meet the school's requirements for graduation>
-Must be able to attend the End Of Fair Party (EOFP)
-Must be available for 2 mandatory events during the Rogue year (Meet’N’Greet Parts 1 & 2)
-Must attend the First Step Meeting in September
-Must be able to attend the EOFP the following year for your Graudation

Guidelines-

Definition of GUIDELINE: a line by which one is guided: as
a : a cord or rope to aid a passer over a difficult point or to permit retracing a course
-Must be able to laugh at oneself as well as at others
-Must be able to resolve conflict swiftly and appropriately
-Must be able to dedicate as much time to the Program and the Rogues as if they were working a part-time job at 5-15 hours per month
-Must be able to attend a minimum of 4 days of Colorado Renaissance Festival 2018
-Must be honest
-Must be reliable
-Must be able to contribute to the writing, production, and performance of an original skit with the other members of the Step Class
-Must have consistent access to the internet and the Colorado Rogue forums
-Must not let personal drama interfere with their involvement or a fellow Step's involvement with the Program

Congratulations!!!!
You passed the second test
You read this whole thing
Now go back to the top and actually do it.
Hopefully we will raise a pint with you soon.

==Useful Info For Noobs==

-Must attend the First Step Meeting in September
-Must be able to attend the EOFP the following year for your Graudation

Guidelines-

Definition of GUIDELINE: a line by which one is guided: as
a : a cord or rope to aid a passer over a difficult point or to permit retracing a course
-Must be able to resolve conflict swiftly and appropriately
-Must be able to dedicate as much time to the Program and the Rogues as if they were working a part-time job at 5-15 hours per month
-Must be able to attend a minimum of 4 days of Colorado Renaissance Festival 2013

== Biography==

== Biography==
