The Koumori (c) 2007, Melissa Carleo and Susan Atchley. Music by Steven K. Mariner and Ken Rowe.

The Koumori's swooping in from somewhere out of sight
You may stand against us in a battle or a fight
Early in the morning or the midst of broad daylight:
But mark my words- You're good as dead at night!

Chorus:
Coming from the East, Koumori flies upon the waves
You won't see 'em coming 'till they take you to your graves
Her decks they are a'gleamin' and it has been said
By the time you see her, you're already dead

The Gods have dropped their Precious Pearls in The Land of the Rising Sun
Many ships are in your fleet, but we need only one
If you're out upon the sea once the sun has set,
This is the only warning you will get

You may fire your cannon, know that you will miss
And then creeping up beside you, you'll feel Koumori's Kiss
She's cunning and she's sultry as she glides in from the sky-
And you find you're fathoms deep before you're asking why

You will be remembered well, lamented in Matsuri
It is not your fault you fell a victim to Her fury
We'll rest easy and sleep soundly. Hold you in our dreams,
And the roaring of the crashing waves will wash away your screams

The faintest flash of golden hair will make your whole fleet pale
Run for shore it's nearly dark, here come the Batwing Sail!
Stand in awe of Gleeful Death - Captain Zetsumei-
When the Full Moon rises, the Bats come out to play!
Avanhttp://www.coloradorogues.org/wiki/index.php?title=The_Koumori&diff=3217The Koumori2009-11-21T19:41:46Z
Avan: /* Current Roster - (10) */

Biography
A person of many names and history, Kit, short for Kitsune, now finds his solace among the top mast of the Raging St. Mae. Found among the debris of many shattered ships, Captain Hawk sighted Kitsune astride a narrow driftboard surrounded by crows standing vigil over his sunbaked body clutching tightly to a strange emblem and a lotus flower. For days, he was nursed back to health as the Mae was chased down by the black tide of dark wings. Now, from the top watch he cares for those same large birds, sometime teaching them the ways of human speech though it is often said by his own words that they teach him far more. He maintains that the curious relationship he has with the birds aids in his duties, sometimes predicting the rumbling of dark clouds during the blue skies or caching more food stores than the ship would normally allow in the case of dead winds. Often he refers to other crew members that no one are aware of, only for his shipmates to discover those same names being hail to the sky as his family of crows circle their nest.

It has been known for Kitsune to disappear for periods of time only to return with stories of 'dancing with crows'. The same stories are often littered with tales from the Kingdom of Crows and a Pagan Duke or other lands with invested time lost to figures known only as Kaza Yurei and Fusho Baka. The lessons learned though, he claims, he records into his 'Crow's manual', reenacting either awkward movements and strange positions about the crow's nest or burning strange materials and throwing things into the air from the top mast. He claims at times his history will be told to those who are interested but he often leads the conversations away from those accounts and basks in the tales of good companionship of The Raging St. Mae
Avanhttp://www.coloradorogues.org/wiki/index.php?title=The_Koumori&diff=2826The Koumori2009-03-09T18:06:34Z
Avan: /* Ship Song */

The Koumori

Avanhttp://www.coloradorogues.org/wiki/index.php?title=The_Koumori&diff=2823The Koumori2009-03-08T20:25:13Z
Avan: /* Ship Song */

Biography
My name is Lady Warbrooke. I have been on this Earth for 35 years. I stand five foot nine inches tall, which means I am quite capable of looking a man in the eye as my sharp daggers make quick work of his soft belly. Though I have not been a Rogue officially overlong, I have been with this merry band of mischief makers in solidarity and in spirit for nigh on three score.

I was born in Essex England to wonderful parents who loved me very much.My mother thought it important that I learn the graces of being a true Lady and set about the task of teaching me the joys of running a proper English house. She caught consumption in the winter of my tenth year and died before the spring melt. My raising was left to my father, a genteel and gracious land owner with a voracious appetite for books and knowledge. My father taught me to be an independent thinker and one of my favorite memories was of sitting with him in the garden playfully arguing the finer points of Socrates and Plato. My father’s motto was “See the truth and live by it”, and he did. He was a fair and decent man who treated everyone from dignitary to pig farmer with the same dignity and respect.

It was lucky that the country folk who lived around our estate thought of my family with high regard, for when the brutal lord of our barony was overthrown in a bloody peasant uprising, my father and I were forewarned and allowed to quietly escape with our trunks packed and our affairs in order. The carriage we were riding in hit a downed branch and was thrown off the road. I hit my head so hard from the impact that I was knocked unconscious. I awoke to discover that my father was dead from a broken neck, our trunks had been spirited away by desperate thieves and I was alone and basically penniless, save for a small velvet pouch that I wore around my neck that held my mothers wedding ring.

After a few hard years, I was set up quite comfortably as an Innkeeper in a quaint port town. In that time I exercised my might as much as my intellect, and as such became known for my exceptional dagger skills. My mother’s insistence on training me in the kitchen paid off in spades, for my victuals were sought far and wide, and the tempting treats that sprang from my ovens allowed me to charge above market price for my lodgings and gave me fodder to learn a few new skills. I learned the jeweler’s trade this way and discovered an outlet for all my creative energies, as well as a penchant for making near indestructible chain mail. I did very well for myself.

I had decided to take in a theatre performance, and while there happened upon a girl who quickly became a dear friend. Something in my spirit chimed that we would know each other for life, I had found a sister. In the years since first meeting Sachiko Zetsumei the other bodies that were with us that night have fallen by the wayside, but my friendship with her remains strong and true.

I went to sea for the first time out of sheer boredom. I had conquered adversity on land and I set out for the waves hoping for more challenge and adventure. I took my skills and training with me on the oceans and set up merchant booths in ports across the known world where I plied my fine jewelry and chain mail successfully on land and honed my knowledge of all the lands and waters. I ran into my dear old friend Sachiko, who informed me that she had attained the status of Captain. Captain Zetsumei extended the invitation to join her crew on board her fine vessel The Koumori, and after careful review of my years of service to her organization, I came onboard as the ship Chronicler.
Avanhttp://www.coloradorogues.org/wiki/index.php?title=Boutz&diff=2776Boutz2009-03-01T17:22:32Z
Avan:

Captain Hawk - Belay pin for knot tying

Biography
- Born in 1678
- Excommunicated in December 6,1700
- Joined the Raging Saint Mae in 1706

Edward Woodson Featty was born in 1678 just outside of Ireland. The son of a respected and beloved Cardinal, he was the middle of three children and the only male. Edward was groomed at an early age to be a cleric in the Church, able to recite passages from the Bible at the age of three. When he was four years old Edward's Father moved the family to France where was ordained a bishop. With his father's new found influence Edward was granted the finest education and wanted for nothing.

On the eve of his tenth birthday, Edward's father presented Edward with a very special gift - his very own ship. Edward named the ship the Prestige and insisted on taking the ship out to sea. His father hesitantly agreed and they ventured into the Mediterranean. They were less than an hour off shore when the canons of a pirate ship left the ship dead in the water and Edward's father dead at sea.

Upon his rescue and return to Paris, Edward was embraced by a friend of his fathers, also a bishop, and confined mostly to the church. But the loss of his father and the call of the sea had infected him. He needed revenge Edward spent the next two years learnings what he could from the elders of the church of piracy and seamanship, sneaking from his room to the docks at night and honing his skills as a sailor (He would have continued his private education longer but he sailed into a typhoon during Christmas of 1699 and crashed in southern Italy, prompting his stepfather to confine him to the church permanently.

In the fall of 1700, Edward was to be ordained as a brother, but his need for revenge overwhelmed him. He felt like a prisoner. In a moment of insanity, he urinated in the Eucharist and struck the Pope before fighting his way out of the church and stowing himself on a cargo ship. Eating of what he could (mostly rats), Edward remained hidden for several months until the ship finally docked. After a few hours of silence Edward made his way to he deck of the ship and was instantly overjoyed; he was back home, in Ireland.
